Each year we need a few hundred catechists to educate our children in what it means to be Catholic. If you like to work with children and are willing to share your faith, this is a very important role.

Job Description
|
We are looking for people, or teams of people, to serve as religious education catechists. The curriculum follows standard class outlines selected by the parish religious education
coordinators. You will teach a class of 5-10 children of the age you choose (age 4 through Grade 10).

Location
|
St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church basement or parish center or in your own home – based on your preference and availability of parish space
|
|
Time Commitment
|
Approximately 18 one-hour sessions in the one year assignment (from October until April) plus approximately one hour of advance preparation for each class; time and day of week is per your preference
and scheduling restrictions
|

Others Involved
|
Teaching may be done as a team if you prefer and you can select your partner or ask for one to be assigned to you if available; every year there are approximately 120 religious education catechists
serving the parish

Qualifications
|
Teaching skill/experience is a bonus, but not required
|

Training
|
2 two-hour catechist meetings each year
