The Church's catechetical mission aims to help the faithful of all ages to grow in both human and Christian maturity, enriching the whole life of faith with the leaven of the Gospel.
Our adult faith formation ministry seeks to engage the particular needs and interests of the adults in our community - to present and explore the core elements of a Catholic faith and practice in a way that is accessible to adults and relates to their life experiences - helping them to form a Christian conscience and to live in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus.
The Sunday Eucharist, which is the principal means the Church uses to help its own to walk in faith is our first and foremost activity. This is especially the true for those who participate in a full, conscious and active way.
Learning About our Faith:
In addition to Sunday Eucharist, our primary faith formation offering is Generations of Faith which is open to parishioners of all ages. Within each monthly GoF gathering a breakout session is offered to provide catechesis on the session's topic at an adult level.
Other opportunities include:
Monday Mornings: A time for adults to gather monthly to pray, discuss and learn together, inspired by the monthly faith topics covered in Generations of Faith.
Bible Study: A complementary program of bible study is offered multiple times during the year. Each study meets once a week for up to 8-10 weeks and covers a wide range of subjects from the Little Rock Scripture series.
Catholic Faith Essentials is a free online adult enrichment opportunity offered by the Boston Archdiocese. Each season focuses on a different topic of interst in adult faith formation.
Throughout the year various opportunities will be available to help nurture one's prayer and spiritual life and also grow in their knowledge and understanding of their faith. These include our Weekly Centering Prayer Group, and various Book Discussions and faith enrichment programs offered throughout the year.
