Parish Finance Council

The finance council's task is to aid the pastor in the administration of parish goods, including the buildings, grounds, movable property, and finances. It assists in the preparation of a yearly budget and in the ongoing supervision of the parish's financial situation, including income, expenses, and special funding needs. The council proposes policies to assure that the parish's financial situation remains in good condition.

Parish Pastoral Council

By means of the pastoral council, "the Christian faithful along with those who share in the pastoral care of the parish in virtue of their office give their help in fostering pastoral activity" (Code of Canon Law, can. 536.1).

According to the Eighth Synod of the Archdiocese of Boston, the purpose of the pastoral council is to "assist the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education and service activities within the parish."
